Specialist Fly fishing Products

We endorse a small range of specialist fly fishing products (watch here for developments through 2008), and we have also designed the Pioneer wading net, below.  Please visit our Pioneer Flyfishing website for further details:  Pioneer Flyfishing

Wild trout in December, on tup wool bug, Size 12Based on forty years of fly fishing experience, fundamentally for brown trout, rainbow trout and grayling, I have an outstanding range of flies which I am making available this year.  I tie these myself except for a few patterns which Fulling Mill tie for me to my specific instructions, and with strict quality control.  I have never before made these available, though I have written about some of them in various publications over the years.  My own flies are the result of fishing all over the world.  They work supremely well as endorsed by guests and England team-mates.  Many of these flies have been developed for World and European Championships - and they have an unbeatable pedigree.  See the full range of flies on this page early in the new year, but in the meantime contact us (below) to find out about the flies we offer.

We fish a lot in continental Europe now, especially on the San River in Poland, the ultimate grayling fishery that exists.  There, and with the England Team in Slovenia and Norway, we perfected the net system that we have all sought for decades.  The Pioneer net, made exclusively for us in Poland, is ultra-light and alloy-framed.   The net is knotless and seamless, and also the ideal shape; scooping and cradling, rather than smothering, the fish.  There is an integral elasticated extension system and fastening which clips to any D-ring or attachment on your vest or waders.

The perfect net system from Pioneer Flyfishing: at £20, inclusive of postage in the UK.

Our range of flies has been developed and honed from several decades of fly fishing in the wild fisheries we visit, as well as those flies which have proved so successful in International competition.

original hare's mask MullerThis fly is the hare's mask version of the outstanding Muller range of dry flies which have been developed over the years.  These flies evolved as general purpose emerger-style patterns for both river and stillwater.  The Mullers are the most technically advanced dry flies ever designed, with a down-kinked hook shank which presents the hook point below the surface, and a loop-winged cul-du-canard wing and wing post, around which a genetic hackle balances the fly's attitude on the surface.

The dubbing materials for the thorax and abdomen regions of the Mullers have been chosen both in terms of colour and texture, so as to yield the ultimate range of dry flies ever produced.

Fulling Mill launched this range of flies for the World Class 2007 range.
